Arrival and my first day in Canada
Mis à jour : 5 sept. 2019
I write this on the second day.
So yesterday was a long day. I got up at 3:30 a.m. french time. It's very early, but I don't live near the airport of Nantes, I have 1 hour and a half of car. and the meeting time at the airport was at 6:30 a.m (finally it was too early, we wait 45 minutes before the meeting in the airport). There was a lot of time after to wait, for security and controls. The first flight departed at 8 a.m., and just lasted one hour. It passed quickly, because I was near the window, and the take-off and the landing during a lot of the time. We arrived at Paris at 9 a.m., and we had more time to wait (enjoy). After passing the controls, again some time to stand. It was very boring. The second flight lasted more time (about 8 hours), and because it's a long time, there were displays on the back of seats. So I made up for lost time in movies : Captain marvel, Spider man into the spiderverse (these were great) and rewatching the long version of The lords of the rings, but didn't have time to watch it fully.
And, more important, the flight goes over Greenland, and there weren't a lot of clouds, so we have a beautiful view of Greenland and the mountains.
At arrival, I was tired (even if at this time of day I'm not usually), we passed others controls (and more waiting), wait for my suitcase, stand because I don't have the yellow paper for the group we passed the customs.
And at last, I meet the family who I will live with and my exchange partner, Anton.
We go by car to the house (a half hour of car), discussing a little bit of the city (here there is a big shopping center, and the CN Tower is very important for Toronto, everything here is very big...).
I've visiting the house and the garden, it's quite big, we had to remove our shoes at the house entry. There are some very Americans objects here (a BBQ with gas for example)...
We ate, and watched a film which I didn't finish because I was too tired.
It was my first day in Canada.
Thanks for reading !
