Canoeing field trip
Mis à jour : 18 nov. 2019
On the 24th of October, I went canoeing with my BC First People class and Hwiemtun, a First Nation man, in Cowichan Bay. Unfortunately, I don’t have any picture since it was a school trip and when you are canoeing, you can’t have a break to take a picture when all your teammates are paddling. It was a nice day, no rain, so it was really relaxing. We saw seals, a lot of seals, at least 50.
It really helped me understanding First Nations’ connection to the land and nature. I think it’s amazing that their traditions remain and they still feel connection with the Earth in this 21st century.
